The racial makeup of the CDP was 98.25% White, 0.19% African American, 0.25% Native American, 0.36% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.40% from other races, and 0.54% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.49% of the population. There were 8,291 households out of which 10.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.4% were married couples living together, 5.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.2% were non-families. 32.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 21.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
